Payers Getting Health Care Exchange Ready with HighRoads SaaS Solution Enabling Accurate, Concise Plan Details

More than ever before, clear, accurate, health plan communication is critical, with the barrage of information being pushed to consumers due to the Affordable Care Act (ACA). For the second year, HighRoads’ Benefits Plan Management System is helping payers comply with the ACA by creating and publishing compliance documents, notably the Summary of Benefits and Coverage (SBC) consumers receive.  As millions of Americans look at making decisions during open enrollment, and in the coming 2014 exchange marketplace, accurate, timely SBCs are essential to compliance and consumer goodwill.

“SBC regulations created a new set of obstacles for payers and we are meeting the challenge with our Benefits Plan Management System,” said HighRoads CEO Michael Byers.  “We are proud to say that HighRoads is now the payers’ chosen platform for communicating SBCs to 20 million consumers.”

“Payers and employers are realizing that manual approaches to health care reform compliance fail due to the complexity and bulk of the regulations taking effect.  They are choosing our Benefits Plan Management System which gives them complete governance over managing data, ensures accuracy and replaces manual tasks that are error-prone,” explained Byers. With exchanges gearing up, national health care payers are relying on HighRoads’ Benefits Plan Management System to be “marketplace ready,” by establishing a system of record for their current and future products. HighRoads offers payers the industry’s only means of establishing ‘one data point of truth’ across all plan data and documents – giving plan participants an accurate, manageable look at their plan coverage.

Brendan Miller, Vice President, Business Development, America’s Health Insurance Plans, notes that  “Exchanges present significant challenges and opportunities to payers who not only have to create new products for customers but also communicate these choices in a timely, consistent and accurate manner.  AHIPwelcomes solution providers such as HighRoads, who offer advanced technology that fulfills both compliance and communication needs.”

HighRoads’ SaaS-based, payer solution, The SourceTM  :

  • Eliminates manual processes
  • Enables payers to manage data holistically – rather than managing individual documents.
  • Provides for efficiency and accuracy of data: data is entered only once and populated throughout all plan, account and compliance documents.
  • Allows payers to easily generate benefits documents, apps and websites based on their unique business rules.
  • Helps payers thrive in a consumer-centric environment by enabling them to adapt quickly to changing requirements and policies.

Paolo Cari, Process Engineer, Saipem

“The new Acid Gas Cleaning is a major step forward for gas process modeling and optimization. It will help us accelerate our projects by setting up the acid gas treatment model as an integral part of a gas process in HYSYS. Using it with the Activated Economics and Activated Energy features in HYSYS, we can also easily optimize our entire gas plant to further reduce our capital and energy costs.”

Mehul Gandhi, Senior Process Engineer, Petrofac

“The new safety analysis is great for the relief analysis of the process unit. We can now quickly estimate relieving fluid properties and conditions, size the relief valves and produce required documentation — all without leaving HYSYS. This will minimize errors, improve the quality and speed up our work significantly.”

Manolis Kotzabasakis, Executive Vice President, Products, AspenTech

“Today, the majority of Midstream and Refining operators – and the engineering companies that serve them – use Aspen HYSYS for process design and operation.  Acid Gas Cleaning and Pressure Safety Valve Sizing are two additional critical activities that process engineers can now perform directly in the Aspen HYSYS environment.  As we continue to simplify and expand these workflows in our products, our customers will be able to maximize return on investments and develop inherently safer designs.”
