AT&T the Latest in a Long List of HighRoads Innovation Superstars to be Recognized by Industry Organizations
BOSTON (September 28, 2011) -HighRoads, an industry leader in employer health care compliance and benefits management, today announced that its client, Michael Calhoun, director, benefit plan governance for AT&T, was awarded this year’s “Judges’ Choice” Benny Award presented by Employee Benefit News (EBN). Calhoun was recognized for his visionary approach to implementing a technology-based solution for AT&T’s benefits plan documents management process by using HighRoads.
AT&T is the latest company in a growing list of HighRoads customers to be recognized for their human resources innovation, vision and successes. Other HighRoads customers to receive industry awards for their use of innovative benefits management technology include: Dell, Hannaford Supermarkets, H-E-B, Kraft Foods, Pitney Bowes, and Staples.
Under Calhoun’s direction, AT&T has developed one of the most comprehensive benefits governance programs in the industry. To accomplish this, AT&T turned to the benefits governance infrastructure from HighRoads that helps to integrate participant communication and achieve operational excellence in a complex, changing regulatory environment.
“We’re moving out of an environment where our job is to maintain documents, to one where our job is to manage information,” said Calhoun to EBN. “And that’s where the real business value is, making that information more accessible, giving it greater utility, eliminating work that goes on in the current environment just to assemble information for decision-making purposes.”
“Compliance management is all about mitigating the risk of legal or regulatory sanctions, financial loss or the loss of reputation a business may suffer as a result of failure to comply with laws or regulations,” said Michael Byers, CEO, HighRoads. “To accomplish this, Michael and his team at AT&T put a winning system in place with the technology and expertise that also fosters collaboration, consistency and efficiency.”
The EBN Benny Awards recognize excellence and innovation in the employee benefits/human resources field. More information on Calhoun’s winning AT&T project can be viewed by visiting: http://is.gd/LCELs6.
