inForm™ Version 1.2 Released

Software is now compatible with Windows® 7 32- and 64-bit systems. Major interface and performance improvements made, and new features introduced.

Woburn, Massachusetts – October 20, 2010 – Cambridge Research & Instrumentation, Inc. (CRi) today announced the release of version 1.2 of the popular and powerful inForm™ advanced image analysis software.

inForm detects and quantifies tissue structures and protein markers within individual cells, in tissue sections stained with conventional histochemical and immunohistochemical methods. Through this technology, in combination with CRi’s multispectral imaging systems, cancer researchers and biologists can identify and evaluate multiple markers within a single sample. With conventional analytical approaches, overlapping multiple markers blend together into indistinguishable masses of color. inForm allows researchers to have an unparalleled understanding of complex expressions and interactions within a single tissue sample.

This new version features:

- Windows® 7 32- and 64-bit compatibility

- Training on more and larger images

- New Double-Positivity scoring option

- Membrane-segmentation option for the cell-segmentation step

- Object-counting algorithm

- Vectra™-specific tissue-finding algorithms and high-power field selection

inForm’s user-friendly interface and short training time allows researchers to develop reliable algorithms in a matter of minutes, compared to hours or days with other technologies. inForm can also be easily installed on a researcher’s laptop, foregoing the need for expensive blade servers, required by competing technologies.
