MCRC ANNOUNCES INVESTMENT IN BIGBELLY SOLAR

Boston, Massachusetts - September 2008 - MCRC is pleased to announce it has made a new investment in BigBelly Solar. Founded in Needham in 2003, BigBelly Solar applies proprietary energy management technology to develop and sell innovative energy efficient products.  The Company’s first product is the BigBelly Solar Compactor, the world’s first and only solar powered trash receptacle capable of automatically compacting waste.  The BigBelly is a trash can sized, solar powered, automatic waste compactor designed to replace or supplement standard outdoor cans at high traffic, high trash volume public sites.  The unit takes up as much space as the “footprint” of an ordinary receptacle, but its capacity is five times greater.  Increased capacity reduces collection trips and can cut fuel use and greenhouse gas emissions by 80%.  MCRC’s investment will support the rapid growth of the company.  For more information, please visit www.bigbellysolar.com.

MCRC ANNOUNCES INVESTMENT IN THE GEM GROUP, INC

Boston, Massachusetts - September 2008 - MCRC is pleased to announce it has made a new investment in the Gem Group.  Headquartered in Lawrence, Gem sources, decorates and sells promotional products to corporate customers throughout the United States.  Gem imports tote, travel, sports and portfolio bags from multiple plants in China and Southeast Asia.  These bags are then screen printed at the Gem facility in Lawrence prior to distribution.  Gem is constantly upgrading basic styles and is now one of the largest screen printers in a fragmented industry.  This is MCRC’s fourth investment in Gem since 1996 and will help to support the continued growth of the business.  For more information, please visit www.gemline.com.
